Cosmetic Removal of Benign Lesions

Liquid Nitrogen for Small Skin Tags, Seborrheic Keratoses, and Brown Spots

Liquid nitrogen is used to quickly freeze these benign lesions.  Depending on the size of the growths, a second treatment or shaving of the lesion may be required to completely eliminate the lesion.  Patients can expect the spot to appear red for 7-10 days, and then fall off.  Pricing follows:

  • $100 for less than 10 lesions
  • $150 for 10-15 lesions
  • $200 for more than 15 lesions

Cauterization of Sebaceous Hyperplasia (Overgrown Oil Glands)

These lesions are cauterized to diminish their appearance on the surface of the skin.  Sebaceous hyperplasia is a common, benign condition of sebaceous glands in adults of middle age or older.  It causes oil glands to be overgrown and while not dangerous, can be cosmetically unattractive.  Pricing follows:

  • $100 for less than 10 lesions
  • $150 for 10-15 lesions
  • $200 for more than 15 lesions

Snip Removal of Skin Tags

Skin tags are common, acquired benign skin growths that look a lot like a small piece of soft, hanging skin.  Skin tags are harmless growths and can be snipped (after numbing by local anesthesia) in our office quickly and with very little pain.  Pricing follows:

  • $100 for less than 10 lesions
  • $150 for 10-15 lesions
  • $200 for more than 15 lesions

Cosmetic Removal of Benign Moles

These lesions can be removed under local anesthesia by shave biopsy.  Commonly, Dr. Schaberg will need to evaluate the mole/moles first to determine if they can be removed cosmetically.  Pricing for 1 mole removed is $100, for 2 moles removed is $150, anf for 3 moles removed $200.  The specimens will be sent to pathology for mandatory examination at a predetermined rate of $109 for up to 3 specimens, payable to the pathology lab.
